IPL Rosacea Treatment.
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition which can express itself as redness on the face, neck and chest. The exact cause of Rosacea remains unknown and many who are affected by it are unaware of their condition.
Rosacea can be effectively managed using a combination of advanced therapies including, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). IPL uses controlled light in specific wavelengths to alleviate the inflammation, redness, pimples and uneven skin tones caused by the condition. IPL offers gentle, long-lasting management for those suffering from Rosacea by providing a gradual and natural improvement to the skin’s appearance.
HOW DOES IPL WORK
IPL Laser treatment targets the superficial vessels of the face, to dramatically decrease facial redness. The vascular components of Rosacea can vary from flushing to telangiectasia and can have different densities and depths. Advanced IPL successfully works towards reducing the redness and simultaneously triggers neocollagenesis which limits the reoccurrence of the condition.
Will i need a patch test?
Yes. Prior to the commencement of treatment, you will be asked to attend an in-depth consultation and patch test; to assess your suitability for treatment. At this stage your aesthetic therapist will explain the full treatment procedure to you and answer any questions you may have.

IS IPL SAFE?
Yes. The IPL Laser only targets the haemoglobin chromophores in the vessels, leaving the surrounding skin and tissue unharmed. You may experience some mild erythema immediately after treatment however, this is normal and will subside shortly after. Your laser specialist will ensure you are aware of your pre and post care, at every appointment.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TREATMENT?
Following treatment, the area may feel warm for a few hours and slight erythema/redness is seen immediately after the treatment. This will disappear in 1-2hours, or in some cases a few days. Particularly delicate areas such as cheeks and décolleté can be slightly swollen for up to 48hrs. If there is any pigmentation in the area, it will turn darker after the treatment, creating a light crust and will ‘slough-off’ within the next 7-10days.
