Specialist IPL Laser Hair Removal for PCOS.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a condition which affects the hormone levels within women.

Women with PCOS produce higher-than-usual levels of the male hormone androgen. Although androgen is naturally produced within women, high levels of male hormones can cause excessive hair growth (hirsutism) - usually on the face, chest, areola area, lower abdomen, back, buttocks and thighs.

The excessive hair growth from PCOS, can severely impact a woman’s sense of wellbeing and her self-confidence. IPL Laser Hair Removal is the primary method for the treatment of excess hair growth; helping to restore confidence to your daily life.

IPL Laser Hair Removal works by utilising specific light wavelengths to safely and effectively target, destroy and treat hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and effectively damages the follicles ability to produce hair in the future.

IPL Laser Hair Removal can deliver excellent results for women with PCOS, often providing permanent hair reduction; restoring self-confidence and mental wellbeing.

How many sessions will i need?

The number of treatments required will vary upon the individual; the size and area to be treated. Clients with PCOS will require on average, a minimum of 6-8 treatments, to achieve effective permanent hair reduction. As with all IPL and Laser treatments, a programme of treatments is required, due to personal hair growth cycles.

As PCOS is an ongoing medical condition, it is impossible to guarantee results, as hair growth may continue despite an initial treatment programme. Although for most, the results are highly successful, it is vital to maintain these results with regular maintenance treatments.

IS IPL HAIR removal Safe?

Yes. The IPL Laser only targets the melanin chromophores in the hair, leaving the surrounding skin and tissue unharmed. You may experience some mild erythema immediately after treatment however, this will subside shortly after.
